William Donahue, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Mr. Donahue is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice.  His treatment method is eclectic encompassing Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational-Emotive and Psychodynamic approaches, as well as Systems Theory and Transactional Analysis.  Mr. Donahue will help clients with relationship problems, parenting, personal growth, anxiety, depression, life transitions, sex lives, adolescent problems, blended families and legal issues along with physical, sexual and emotional abuse.  In addition to his private practice, Mr. Donahue has been a Faculty Associate with the University of Maine, School of Social Work, The University of New England and Husson College.  He worked for many years at Bangor Mental Health Institute where he developed a nationally recognized out-patient program and halfway houses. Mr. Donahue conducts workshops and seminars in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Assessments/Management and Treatment of Sexual Offenders, Domestic Violence Risk Assessment, Violence Risk Assessment and Treatment of Personality Disorder.  His professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers which recognizes Mr. Donahue as a Qualified Clinical Social Worker and Diplomat in Clinical Social Work.  He is also a Clinical Member of the Association for Treatment of Sexual Abusers and listed on the Guardian Ad Litem Roster of the Maine District & Superior Courts.

David B. Spang, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Mr. Spang received his education at Yale University and his M.S.W Degree from Columbia University.  He has over 40 years experience as a Clinical Social Worker, working in a variety of family and children’s agencies as well as Bangor Mental Health Institute.  In addition to general psychotherapy, he has worked extensively with trauma survivors, anger management issues, marital and communication problems.  He runs a number of different groups on managing anger, dealing with abusive relationships and survivors of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Norman Autotte, Ed.D., L.C.P.C.
Dr. Autotte received his Master’s Degree and Doctorate from the University of Maine in Orono.  He has been working in the Bangor area for over thirty years and has held counseling and supervisory positions at the Chemical Dependency Institute of Eastern Maine Medical Center, hope House, New Dawn Associates and WellSpring, Inc.  He has been with Behavioral Health Center since 2001.  Dr. Autotte works with both individuals and couples, specializing in addiction and relationship issues.  Besides counseling for the substance abuser, addiction therapy includes adult children of alcoholics, other affect family members and problem gamblers.  Dr. Autotte also deals with a number of mental disorders especially Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, Bi-Polar Disorder.  He is also experienced with problems related to low self-esteem, separation/divorce, grief, job loss and difficulties at work.

Darrah Wagner, RN, MSW, LCSW
Ms Wagner obtained her social work degree from Smith College School for Social Work and also holds a master�s degree in psychiatric nursing and has 22 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in a number of mental health settings including outpatient mental health, day treatment and on an inpatient psychiatric unit. Her work has been with adults struggling with a variety of emotional and mental health issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma related issues and psychotic disorders. She uses an eclectic style based on the needs of the individuals with the goal of helping people attain and maintain their optimal level of functioning.

Ray Mortelliti, L.C.S.W.
Mr. Mortelliti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who completed his graduate social work training at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He has varied interests and works with a wide range of problems and therapies including analyzing dreams, Stress/Anger Management, improving marital relationships, developing/improving coping skills, building supports and personal growth therapies.  He provides group and individual therapy including working with victims of sexual abuse.  Mr. Mortelliti also works with those involved in injured relationships, as well as those wishing to change abusive behaviors.  His therapeutic approaches are varied partly due to his experience in a wide range of professional and life experiences.  With his clients, he chooses the best approach/fit from Psycho-dynamic Therapy, Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Systems Approaches and Transactional Analysis.  He is able to choose from a wide range of therapeutic approaches or utilize an eclectic approach due to his professional trainings and life experiences.  Mr. Mortelliti’s professional experience includes working with clients in varied settings including churches, single parent agencies, family agencies, agencies focusing on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), prison environments, substance abuse and addiction clinics.

Lee A. Russell, M.A., M.Ed., NCC, LCPC
Lee Russell gained both her graduate degrees at the University of Maine in Orono. She completed a Master of Arts in English in 1980 and worked in education and business until she completed a Masters of Education in Counseling Education in 1989. Ms. Russell has spent the last 20 years as a counselor. She has worked as a full-time or part-time psychotherapist throughout that period. She has also gained experience in the field as an employee of Mid Coast Mental Health Center, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and locally with OHI where she began an Outpatient Counseling Service. Ms. Russell takes a problem-solving approach in her practice choosing whatever counseling theories and techniques would be most helpful to the client in their search for a better life. Her aim is always to empower the client to learn the coping skills and action strategies they need in order to independently solve their problems. Ms. Russell’s current clientele encompasses individuals coping with serious, chronic mental illness, those dealing with the dual problems of mental health issues and substance abuse and those struggling with anxiety, depression and eating disorders. She does both individual and couples work. Ms. Russell has been a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) since 1993 and a State of Maine Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) since 1999.

George W. Russell, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
George received his education at the University of Connecticut at Storrs and his MSW degree from Hunter College/City University of New York. He has worked in the field of Human Services for nearly 35 years, 23 of those years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  George’s treatment philosophy and methods are a by -product of his classic psychoanalytic training and his years of serving the mental health needs of people overseas in diverse cultures. Mr. Russell’s treatment approach is firmly grounded in the work of Carl Rogers, Erik Erikson and Viktor E. Frankl. Practicing this   "person-centered” style he offers; Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Couple and Marital Therapy as well as Anger and Stress management. George is experienced in providing Brief and Long Term treatment in individual and group formats.  Mr. Russell has championed the respect of and dignity for consumers of Mental Health Services from such diverse venues as a Leprosarium located in Niger West Africa to a refugee camp in Phanat Nikhom, Thailand, from the ethnic ghettos of New York City to the coastal communities of DownEast Maine. A trademark of George’s practice is the laughter that emanates from his sessions. Having witnessed profound human suffering across the globe as well as in his own life, he believes that the therapist/patient relationship works best when it is characterized by trust, compassion and permission to enjoy the richness of the interaction between two people.  George has written about Nightmare Death among Indochinese refugees. His work has been afforded special recognition by the American Association of Residential Services and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. At the forefront of the A.I.D.S. epidemic in NYC Mr. Russell was one of the original team members of the nationally recognized North General Hospital located in Harlem NY, where as part of his work he became credentialed as a pre/post HIV/AIDS Counselor-a competency that he maintains to this day. George is a Certified Social Work Manager, has enjoyed a long mutually beneficial relationship with NASW and is a lifetime member of the NAACP.
