About Us
Behavioral
Health Center (BHC) is a private group out-patient mental health
practice. Evaluation and treatment services are provided to
individuals, families, courts, businesses, schools, individuals
involved in civil/criminal proceedings, elderly and disabled people
living in long-term care facilities. Treatments focus on
utilizing Evidence Based and Brief Therapy Models. Evidence Based
Treatments are treatment methods that have research supporting their
effectiveness in helping clients improve their functioning, control
symptoms or develop recovery.
Behavioral Health Center
is licensed by the State of Maine to provide Out-Patient Psychotherapy
Services. Most private practices in Maine are not licensed as
clinics, although each provider/clinician should hold a valid Maine
license to practice their profession as a Social Worker, Counselor,
Psychiatrist, Psychologist or Nurse. The licensing process helps insure
that the facility, staff, practices, clinical records, safety and
financial policies meet acceptable standards set by the Department of
Health and Human Services. Agencies are licensed for 1 to 3 years
and conditions can be attached for deficiencies found. Behavioral
Health Center was initially licensed for 2 years without any conditions
or provisions, which is the best that is granted on an initial
licensing survey.
The clinical staff at Behavioral
Health Center receives administrative support to manage the financial
and management issues that are a part of providing mental health
services. This allows clinicians to focus energy on addressing
the issues their clients sought help with. Most clinicians at
Behavioral Health Center are very experienced independent
practitioners, have varied experiences in different environments and
are licensed to diagnose and treat mental health problems. BHC at any
time may have a provider licensed to practice conditionally under the
supervision of an independently licensed clinician.
